3 Months

It is so fun to dress a girl!
I love these leg warmers and a friend made the the bow to match them.
So far at 3 months, Little Miss S has...
Giggled
Slept through the night
Developed more of a predictable schedule
Found her loud cooing voice
Grown some very kissable cheeks.
Lived up to her name meaning rest.
Stolen the hearts of her brothers
and daddy
and mommy
and everyone.
She is such a gift.

Birthdays and Marathons

Last weekend we had a very eventful trip to Pittsburgh.

On Thursday night, there was a competitive game of baseball at the request of the two misters who love to play baseball.

On Friday, we had a birthday party for our 2 year old Mr. Newton.
He sang along to Happy Birthday and was very excited to shout "Happy birthday to I.I." when it came time.
He needed a little help blowing out the candles
but had no problem diving right into the cake!

On Saturday, Mr. Mister ran in the Pittsburgh Kid's Marathon, which was a mile race.  He finished it in 9 minutes!  Every time people cheered for him, he put his head down and ran faster.  I am so proud of my little runner!

Then on Sunday, Daddy and Uncle C ran the Pittsburgh Half Marathon on behalf of Aunt J and the MS Society.  Between the two of them they raised a lot of money for this wonderful organization and I was so proud of them running in their "i run to stop MS" shirts.  They ran really well and we got to see them three times along the course.  Uncle C had planned to be done with running after this but hopefully he got the running bug after such a great race and a fun marathon environment.

And Miss S enjoyed a weekend of love from everyone,
especially these lovely ladies and her grandma.

Two Years Old!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Dear Mr. Newton,
I could write pages about how much I love you and how thankful I am that you are part of our family.  You bring such JOY to us, always full of smiles and laughter. Your smile still takes up your whole face and lights up the whole room.

I love your cute words as you learn to talk - like how you say Mom at the end of everything.  "School bus, Mom."  "Another school bus, Mom."  "Guy running, Mom." "Oh, Mom."  It makes me laugh and makes me feel so loved.

I love the names you've given everyone - you are I.I., your brother is Mamo, and your sister is Daywa or Baby Joy, which is so sweet.  You adore your big brother, wanting to do and say everything he does and you are always watching out for your sister, telling when she is crying or making sure we take her with us everywhere we go.

You love any kind of ball.  You call the balls baseball player and football player.  It's so funny.  You also love your baseball player pajamas and once wore them the whole day because you didn't want to take them off in the morning.

And you love a good dance party!  Someone asked you if you were going to have a birthday party and you got so excited and yelled, "Dance Party!"  You have some good moves, too.  I should learn from you.

And of course, you have your orange dog who we now call Doo Doo, because that's how you said Orange Juice.  The joy on your face when you find him is priceless and I sometimes feel like he's part of the family.

You are so sweet and even your grumpiness is cute because you scrunch up your nose when you get mad.  I love you so much and am so so thankful for how perfectly God made you and that He chose me to be your mama!
